So your Resident Evil fantasies weren't fully realized in the recent Resident Evil: Apocalypse movie offering and your LARP'r friends just don't have the guts to hack (that pun hurt) a Live Action Roleplay session. But that's ok, because now you can get the Resident Evil Chainsaw Controller and go crazygonuts on your neighborhood zombies.
The controller is officially licensed by Capcom and Nintendo for use on your Game Cube. Obviously it will work best for the upcoming Resident Evil 4 title, but includes all the buttons and control sticks of a standard Game Cube controller. If you really wanted to, you could use your controller to play a round of Mario Kart. As long as you don't have any multiplayer friends in the room, no one should get hurt.
The Chainsaw controller has nice elemental features such as blood graphics, a rock and mud display stand, and a built-in speaker that sputters out chainsaw sound effects during usage. The device was designed by NubyTech with the influence of Capcom developers.
Resident Evil 4 is expected to be one of the most realistic and detailed graphic games on any platform (until the upcoming Zelda title is launched at least). It features a much improved AI engine. No more Zombies blocking your way with their backs turned to you not realizing you're even there. Both the controller and RE4 will be released for the GameCube on January 11th. The game will be available on Xbox and PS2 later in 2005. The controller has an expected retail price of $49.95 and will be sure to upset 90's moms everywhere.
